On Friday night, officers were near the 1100 block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive when they saw a vehicle wanted in connection with an aggravated battery of an officer earlier in the month and attempted to pull over the vehicle, Chicago police said.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit sent divers into the lake overnight Friday after a vehicle veered off of DuSable Lake Shore Drive but found the blue sedan was empty, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene in the 5400 block of South Lake Shore Drive about 10:20 a.m., according to Chicago police.
